| House plans meth hearing in Bentonville
Thursday, Jun 24, 2004 By Alison Vekshin Stephens Washington Bureau WASHINGTON -- A U.S. House subcommittee plans to explore methamphetamine abuse in Arkansas at a hearing in Bentonville on Monday. The panel will hear from at least 10 public officials and others, according to an announcement by Rep. John Boozman, R-Rogers. The House Government Reform Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, Drug Policy, and Human Resources monitors all government drug control efforts, including the operations of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. The hearing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the White Auditorium at Northwest Arkansas Community College. Among officials scheduled to speak are Keith Rutledge, drug policy advisor for Gov. Mike Huckabee, David Gibbons, prosecuting attorney for the 5th Judicial District in Russellville and Larry Counts, director of the Decision Point Drug Treatment Facility in Springdale. -- 30 -- |
