| Governor announces appointments
Saturday, Jun 4, 2005 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Mike Huckabee announced the appointments of 19 persons to state boards and commissions Friday. Those appointed: -Alma Gipson of Bigelow reappointed to the Board of Massage Therapy. She is retired. Her term expires June 7, 2008. -Veda Traylor of Mayflower reappointed to the Board of Cosmetology. She is a hairdresser and electrologist in North Little Rock. Her term expires June 1, 2010. -Don Wales of El Dorado to replace Blake Benson on the Information Network of Arkansas. He is president and chief executive officer of the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce. His term expires Dec. 31, 2007. -Jack Long Jr. of Cabot to replace Wallace Gieringer on the Arkansas River Basin Interstate Committee. He is general manager of Arkansas operations for SSA Marine-Logistic Services Inc. He will serve at the will of the governor. -Costella Rudd-Hayes of Pine Bluff reappointed to the Board of Examiners of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. She is an alcohol and drug abuse counselor. Her term expires Sept. 14, 2008. -Linda Johnson of Redfield to replace Everlyn Bryant on the Pine Bluff Arsenal Citizens' Advisory Committee. She is a gifted and talented program coordinator for White Hall School District. She will serve at the will of the governor. -Patsy Rogers of Van Buren reappointed to the Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee for Judicial District 21. She is retired. Her term expires Jan. 14, 2009. -Sherman Smith of Cedarville reappointed to the Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee for Judicial District 21. He is retired. His term expires Jan. 14, 2009. -Tamara Langley of Bryant to replace Faith Farmer on the Governor's Commission On People With Disabilities. She is a graduate assistant at the Institute of Government at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her term expires June 1, 2007. -Judy Ricci of Little Rock to replace Ronald Moore on the Governor's Commission On People With Disabilities. She is an instructor at the Arkansas School for the Blind. Her term expires June 1, 2006. -Ronald Thomas of Walnut Ridge to replace Ida Esh't on the Governor's Commission On People With Disabilities. He is retired. His term expires June 1, 2007. -Thomas Green of Little Rock to a new position on the Task Force for the Study of the Homeless. He is an assistant director of the Office of Community Services. His term expires Dec. 31, 2006. -Danny Lee of North Little Rock reappointed to the Apprenticeship Coordination Steering Committee. He is director of education and training for the Arkansas chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America. His term expires Dec. 1, 2008. -Ted Hutchcroft of Morrilton to replace Lee Leibovich on the Library Board. He is retired. His term expires Oct. 18, 2010. -Jerry Halsey Jr. of Jonesboro to replace Bruce Burrow on the Building Authority Council. He is president of Burrow Halsey Realty Group Inc. His term expires July 22, 2007. -Dick Trammel of Rogers to replace Bob Cheyne on the Higher Education Coordinating Board. He is an executive vice president of Arvest Bank. His term expires May 1, 2011. -Billie Sue Hoggard of Jonesboro to replace Jerry McIntosh on the Educational Television Commission. She is a teacher for the Jonesboro School District. Her term expires March 23, 2010. -Charles Harrod of Hermitage to replace Lynn Lowe on the Plant Board. He is president of Harrod Farms Inc. His term expires March 17, 2007. -Dr. Robert Smalling of Warren reappointed to the Board of Optometry. He is owner of Smalling Eye Clinic. His term expires April 26, 2010. |
