March planned on anniversary of terrorist attacks
Saturday, Sep 9, 2006

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Mike Huckabee on Friday ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff Monday on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

More than 3,000 people were killed in the attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.

"This is a time to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and helped to strengthen the resolve of our state and nation," the governor said Friday in a release.

Huckabee is scheduled to lead the America Salutes You Freedom Walk on Monday morning along Capitol Avenue from Cross Street to the state Capitol, where a ceremony is to be held on the Capitol steps.
