Governor announces appointments

LITTLE ROCK - Six appointments to state boards and commissions were announced Tuesday by Gov. Mike Beebe.

Those appointed:

-Charles Black of Texarkana to the Red River Commission. His term expires Jan. 14, 2014.

-Wayne Dowd of Texarkana to the Red River Commission. His term expires Jan. 14, 2014.

-Dr. Harold Chakales of Little Rock to the University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees. His term expires Jan. 14, 2014.

-Jimmie Don McKissick of Pine Bluff to the Arkansas Racing Commission. His term expires Jan. 14, 2012.

-Bishop Felton E. May of Little Rock to the Arkansas Minority Health Commission. His term expires Jan. 31, 2009.

-Don Nelms of Fayetteville to the Arkansas Forestry Commission. His term expires Jan. 14, 2016.
