Acxiom acquires online marketer Wednesday, Apr 4, 2007 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - Acxiom Corp. made its second acquisition in less than a week, announcing Tuesday it had acquired San Francisco based online marketing firm Kefta. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Kefta will become integrated with Acxiom Digital. Kefta uses Web sites, search engines, banners and e-mails to reach potential customers for clients like Verizon, Overstock.com and GMAC. "The ability to integrate search engine, Web site and e-mail marketing communications and to power them with Acxiom data will help us drive even higher levels of customer satisfaction and financial results," Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne said in a statement. "Kefta has spent the past seven years developing a powerful yet easy-to-implement solution that personalizes the customer experience from the very first interaction," Acxiom Digital leader Kevin Johnson said. "No other personalization company can match Kefta's proven ability to drive measurable results." On March 29, Acxiom announced its acquisition of Harbinger Technologies Group, a developer of counterterrorism software tools and programs. Financial terms were not disclosed. Harbinger Technologies is a consulting and technology firm with almost 50 employees. Shares of Acxiom (NasdaqGS: ACXM) closed Tuesday at $21.44, up 12 cents. |
