UCA extends football coach's contract

CONWAY - The contract of University of Central Arkansas football coach Clint Conque was extended through 2011, the school said Tuesday.

UCA moved from NCAA Division II to Division I-AA in football last year and finished 8-3. UCA President Lu Hardin said extending Conque's contract "makes a strong statement about the stability and the long-term direction of, as well as the commitment to, our football program."

UCA's head coach since 2000, Conque has compiled a 52-29 record.

Conque's annual salary is $114,805, although it may be increased or supplemented with private contributions or from the proceeds of private contributions designated for that purpose.

The contract also includes performance incentives.
