Woman named state bank commissioner Thursday, Jun 14, 2007 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - Candace Franks, a 27-year-veteran of the Arkansas State Bank Department, has been named commissioner of the department, Gov. Mike Beebe announced Wednesday. Franks, 54, becomes the first woman to serve as commissioner. She joined the department in 1980 and was named deputy bank commissioner in 1995. She replaces Robert H. "Bunny" Adcock, whose term recently expired. Adcock was appointed commissioner in 2003 by then-Gov. Mike Huckabee. |
