Beebe announces appointments to new state panels Saturday, Oct 13, 2007 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Mike Beebe announced 13 appointments to two newly created state commissions on Friday. Nine of the appointments were to the Electronic Recording Commission, created by the Legislature this year to adopt standards to implement Act 734, the Uniform Real Property Electronic Recording Act. The appointees are Kevin Cowling of Foreman; Alma Davis of Hampton; Bette Green of Forrest City; Laurie Green of De Queen; J.T. Ferstl of Little Rock; Rhonda Long of Conway; Pat O'Brien of Little Rock; Brian Scott of Maumelle, and Cheryl Wilson of El Dorado All appointments expire Sept. 1, 2009. Beebe also named four of the 16 members of the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission, created by the Legislature this year to promote a statewide observance of the Civil War's 150th anniversary, beginning in 2011. The governor's appointees to the commission are Don Hamilton of Little Rock; Thomas Dupree of Jacksonville; Ernest Cunningham of Helena and Jamie Brandon of Magnolia. |
