P.A.M. Transportation wins environmental award

LITTLE ROCK - P.A.M. Transportation Services Inc. was named Monday as a recipient of an Environmental Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay Transport Partnership.

The partnership cited the company's leadership in conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions from its transportation and freight activities.

P.A.M. was one of 34 companies and organizations from among the partnership's more than 600 partners to receive the distinction.

P.A.M. was cited for its adoption of various fuel-saving technologies that saved 20.3 million gallons of fuel, reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 225,749 metric tons, reduced Particulate Matter emissions by 17 tons and generated $61 million in savings, according to the EPA.
