UALR names new Institute for Economic Advancement director Tuesday, Mar 4, 2008 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - The University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Institute for Economic Advancement named economic developer Jim Youngquist its new executive director on Monday. Youngquist, who began his duties Monday, formerly was the interim director of the Fanning Institute at the University of Georgia. He also provided consultation, applied research and other technical services related to regional strategic planning and community development as coordinator and director of UGA's SouthEast Regional Directors Institute. "Jim's career in public service and economic development with university and community partnerships for nearly 30 years prepares him well to lead the IEA during such a developmental period for Arkansas into the knowledge-based economy," said Jane Wayland, interim dean of the UALR College of Business. The IEA is the applied research and extension arm of UALR's business college. |
