Fortune 500 company buys Maumelle-based Communications Development Inc. Wednesday, Mar 26, 2008 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - Affiliated Computer Services Inc., a Fortune 500 company, announced Tuesday that it had acquired Maumelle-based Communications Development Inc. Communications Development provides outsourced marketing, consulting and advertising services to the transportation industry. It employs 23 people. "This acquisition strengthens our position as a leading provider of responsive, reliable and flexible recruiting, retention and marketing services and solutions to the transportation industry," said Tom Blodgett, group president of ACS Business Process Solutions. Nashville-based Affiliated Computer Services employs 62,000 people in more than 100 countries and is publicly traded. "Communications Development will enhance our ability to compete for new business from larger carriers," Blodgett said. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 1990, Communications Development is an award-winning full-service agency that manages all forms of media placement, public relations, event planning and creative design. Its clients include IdleAire Technologies and National Freight Industries. "Our clients will continue to receive the responsive service they have come to expect, while also gaining efficiencies, advanced technologies and the support of a reputable Fortune 500 company," Communications Development CEO Trish Groves said. |
