National Energy Board taps Arkansas PSC chief Tuesday, Apr 29, 2008 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - The chairman of the Arkansas Public Service Commission has been selected to serve on a joint federal and state-government forum that will analyze new efforts to modernize the U.S. electricity grid. The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions selected Colette D. Honorable to join 15 others who will discuss technological and regulatory issues related to new "Smart Grid" technologies, the organization announced Monday. Using two-way communications and sensors, the Smart Grid might have the ability to reduce power consumption through demand response, improving the ability to store electricity and improve grid reliability, which would conserve energy and save consumers money, experts say. |
