BREAKING NEWS: Two in state contracted food poison from tomatoes

LITTLE ROCK - State health officials say two people in Arkansas have contracted Salmonella Saintpaul infections related to the recent multi-state outbreak with its source in tomatoes.

State Health Department spokesman Ed Barham said today both individuals contracted the virus before May 15 from raw tomatoes grown outside Arkansas.

Tomatoes grown in the state have not been associated with the 17-state outbreak. Arkansas' tomato harvest began last week.
