Engineering firm to build new HQ, add 120 jobs
Wednesday, Jun 25, 2008

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK - Garver Engineers LLC broke ground Tuesday on a new $10 million corporate headquarters in North Little Rock and said it will add 120 new employees at an average annual salary of $65,000.

The firm chose to locate the 50,000 square-foot building in the Northshore Business Park after running out of room at its current location in Little Rock.

The addition of the 120 new employees will bring Garver's employment at its Central Arkansas headquarters to more than 230 people and increase its total staff to 380 in 10 offices, representing a substantial part of its strategic plan to double its size in the next five years.

"Garver Engineers has a strong history in Central Arkansas and is creating many top-quality, high-paying jobs that will have a strong impact on our state's economy," Gov. Mike Beebe said.

Garver offers a full range of engineering services, handling projects in fields such as transportation, water, aviation, industrial, federal, development, surveys and construction management and observation.

The firm plans to move into its new headquarters in June 2009. It also has offices in Fayetteville and Hot Springs, as well as Tulsa, Okla., Norman, Okla., Florence, Ala., Huntsville, Ala., Brandon, Miss., Franklin, Tenn. and Frisco, Texas.

Other regions recruited the headquarters, according to North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Hays.

Garver Engineers President Brock Johnson praised the investment and support of Beebe and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.

The firm qualified for performance-based incentives from AEDC.
