BREAKING NEWS: State to take over Greenland School District Monday, Jul 14, 2008 LITTLE ROCK - The state Board of Education voted unanimously today for state takeover of the Greenland School District in Washington County. The board was scheduled to consider annexing the troubled district into a neighboring district. Greenland school officials asked board members to put off a decision but said, alternatively, they would prefer the state take over the district to lead it out of money problems. Also today, the Board of Education designated the Decatur School District in Benton County as fiscally distressed. |
