Governor announces 27 appointments

LITTLE ROCK - J. Ashley Parker of Hope has been appointed prosecuting attorney for Judicial District 8 North in Southwest Arkansas, Gov. Mike Beebe announced Tuesday. He replaces Chris Thomason, who recently was named chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.

Thomason, a Democrat and former state representative, was named chancellor at the Hope campus by the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees.

Parker's appointment expires Dec. 31, 2010.

The appointment was one of 27 to state boards and commissions.

The others:

- Shirley Brown of West Memphis replaces Jack Moten on the Crittenden County Quorum Court, District 1. Her appointment expires Dec. 31.

- Dr. Nancy Carlson of Hot Springs Village replaces Susanna Osburn on the the Governor's Commission on People with Disabilities. Her appointment expires June 1, 2011.

- Gerald Carr of Bryant replaces Stephen Hare on the Governor's Commission on People with Disabilities. His appointment expires June 1, 2011.

- Ted Fotioo Sr. of Little Rock reappointed to the Arkansas Board of Dispensing Opticians. His appointment expires June 30, 2011.

- Terry Granderson of Little Rock replaces Bruce Blackall on the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Licensing Board. His appointment expires June 30, 2012.

- Raymond Heaggans of Maumelle replaces Daniel Smith on the State Board of Sanitarians. His appointment expires June 30, 2013.

- Jerry Himes of Helena-West Helena reappointed to the Arkansas Board of Dispensing Opticians. His appointment expires June 30, 2011.

- Robert Jordan of Hot Springs replaces Dr. Jennifer Parks on the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy. His appointment expires July 1, 2011.

- Michael McClellan of Little Rock reappointed to the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Licensing Board. His appointment expires June 30, 2012.

- David Oates of Hatfield replaces David Harbour on the Arkansas Service Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2011.

- Tim Reeves of Jonesboro replaces Kristen Abercrombie on the Arkansas Service Commission. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2009.

- Michael Richardson of Holly Grove reeappointed to the Arkansas Corn and Grain Sorghum Promotion Board. His appointment expires July 1, 2010.

- Dr. Lee St-Pierre of Jonesboro reappointed to the Arkansas Board of Dispensing Opticians. His appointment expires June 30, 2011.

- Mary Smith of Malvern replaces Connie Wheeler on the State Board of Sanitarians. Her appointment expires June 30, 2009.

- Robert Tillman of Little Rock replaces Jennie Gregory on the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy. His appointment expires July 1, 2011.

- Stewart Weaver of Proctor reappointed to the Arkansas Corn and Grain Sorghum Promotion Board. His appointment expires July 1, 2010.

- Keith Woolverton of Pollard reappointed to the Arkansas Corn and Grain Sorghum Promotion Board. His appointment expires July 1, 2010.

- Kelvin Wyrick of Texarkana replaces Marie Brown on the Southern Arkansas University Board of Trustees. His appointment expires Jan. 14, 2013.

- Lawrence Bearden of Smackover reappointed to the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- Donnie Fowler of Damascus replaces Franklin Wise on the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- Eric Herget of Little Rock replaces Bob Blount on the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- Laura "Diane" Hilburn of Little Rock appointed to the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. Her appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- Steve McGuire of Blytheville replaces Frank Scroggins on the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- James "Mike" Norton of Harrison appointed to the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- Mary Parham of Little Rock replaces Willie Gilbert on the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.

- Michael Rebick of Little Rock to the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board. His appointment expires June 1, 2012.
