Critcher acting governor while Beebe, Halter attend convention Wednesday, Aug 27, 2008 Arkansas News Bureau LITTLE ROCK - State Senate President Pro Tem Jack Critcher, D-Batesville, is acting governor this week while both Gov. Mike Beebe and Lt. Gov. Bill Halter attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver, a spokeswoman for Beebe said Tuesday. Beebe, a superdelegate to the convention, will return to Arkansas on Friday afternoon, spokeswoman Stacey Hall said. Halter, a delegate pledged to Hillary Clinton, will return this weekend, spokesman Garry Hoffmann said. |
