Home BancShares banks to adopt Centennial Bank as name
Saturday, Sep 6, 2008

Arkansas News Bureau

LITTLE ROCK - Bank holding company Home BancShares Inc. announced Friday that all six of its affiliate banks will adopt Centennial Bank as their common name.

The name transition will occur over the next six to nine months, officials said. The affiliate banks are First State Bank in Conway, Community Bank of Cabot, Twin City Bank in North Little Rock, Centennial Bank of Little Rock, Bank of Mountain View and Marine Bank in Florida.

Officials approved the move Wednesday and said it would allow for a more customer-friendly banking experience and seamless transactions across all of the company's banks.

Several weeks ago, Home BancShares announced plans to combine the charters of its six banks into a single charter to provide more convenient and integrated services to customers.

"In the complicated regulatory and marketing environment we operate within, great efficiencies can be gained by a single charter and a single name," CEO John Allison said.

Home BancShares is a $2.6 billion Arkansas-based bank holding company.

Shares of the company (NASDAQGS: HOMB) closed Friday at $25.57, up 85 cents.
