Vic Harville, a veteran political and sports cartoonist, joined Stephens Media Group in June 2000 after 12 years with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

A six-time finalist for the Katie Award by the Press Club of Dallas, he took the top price in 1998, 2002 and 2003. He also took top honors in 1998 and 1999 in the Mid-South competition of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Harville has won the Arkansas Press Association contest five times and the Arkansas Associated Press Managing Editors contest twice. His work as been reprinted in Newsweek, the Washington Post, and USA Today. It also has been featured on NBC's Prime Time Live and ABC's Dateline and Good Morning America-Sunday.

Three books of his cartoons have been published. The first, "That's The Way To Run A War," was a collection of cartoons recounting the Persian Gulf War. The original artwork on the book's cover now hangs in the George Bush Presidential Library on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station.

His second book, "We Knew Bill Clinton," was published in 1993. It featured a collection of Harville's work related to Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign.

A third book, "Rounding up the Unusual Suspects," was released in 2002.
