Rob Moritz, a veteran reporter on newspapers in Arkansas, Texas and Tennessee, joined the Arkansas News Bureau in June 2000.
Moritz covers government and politics. From 1989-1999, Moritz covered police news and later city government, first for The Nashville Banner and later for the Nashville Tennessean.
A University of Arkansas at Little Rock graduate, his first newspaper job was with The Benton Courier in Benton, Ark., where he worked for Dennis A. Byrd, bureau chief.
After a brief stint at a Tyler, Texas, paper, Moritz returned to The Courier and then went to work at the Arkansas Gazette, where he covered police news and later was a general assignment reporter.
Moritz and his wife Gwen Crownover Moritz, editor of Arkansas Business, live in North Little Rock. They have two children, Garth and Grant.
