FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas-Kentucky weekend series will wrap up a day earlier than expected.
The teams will play a Saturday doubleheader because of inclement weather expected to hit Lexington, Kent., on Sunday. Both games are scheduled for nine innings. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 11 a.m., while game two will start approximately 45 minutes after the completion of game one.
It will be Arkansas' first doubleheader in Southeastern Conference play. The Razorbacks have played four doubleheaders this season and are 5-3 in those games.
Arkansas (31-15, 14-7 in SEC) opened the series with a 2-1 win against Kentucky (26-18, 9-13) on Friday night. It was the Razorbacks' fifth straight SEC win and sixth in a row overall.
Right-hander Ryne Stanek is scheduled to start the first game of the doubleheader today, while lefty Randall Fant will pitch in game two.
