FAYETTEVILLE The Arkansas baseball team collected another No. 1 preseason ranking Thursday, when the USA Today Baseball Coaches' poll was released.

The Razorbacks earned 10 of a possible 31 first-place votes to occupy th top spot. UCLA, LSU, North Carolina and South Carolina round out the top five.

It's the second preseason poll to rank Arkansas No. 1 this month, joining the preseason Collegiate Baseball poll. Arkansas also is No. 2 in Perfect Game's preseason poll and No. 3 in Baseball America's preseason poll, which was released Thursday.

Arkansas enters the season with lofty expectations largely because of its pitching staff, which returns 10 players. It includes All-America candidates like Ryne Stanek, Colby Suggs and Barrett Astin. The Razorbacks also return seven position players who logged significant playing time last season for a team that finished 46-22 and advanced to the College World Series.

The Razorbacks open preseason practice Friday. The season opener against Western Illinois is on Feb. 15.
