FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas was not ranked in the USA Today preseason coaches' poll when it was released Thursday morning.
But the Razorbacks did receive one vote.
Arkansas, which is coming off a 4-8 season and preparing for its first year under coach Bret Bielema, was among 28 teams that did not crack the top 25 but received at least one vote in the preseason poll. The USA Today board of coaches is made up of 62 head coaches at Bowl Subdivision schools. Bielema is among the voters for the poll this season.
The Razorbacks will play five teams this season that are ranked among the top 13 in the USA Today preseason poll.
It includes the difficult four-week stretch against No. 6 Texas A&M (Sept. 28), No. 10 Florida (Oct. 5), No. 1 Alabama (Oct. 12) and No. 7 South Carolina (Oct. 19). Arkansas also closes the regular season against No. 13 LSU on Nov. 29.
Three other Arkansas opponents received votes: Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Rutgers.
