FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas and Texas Christian will play their home-and-home football series in 2016 and 2017.
TCU announced the latest dates for the series, which was previously set for 2015 and 2016, in a press release this week. The Horned Frogs will host the Razorbacks in Ft. Worth in 2016, then play Arkansas in Fayetteville in 2017.
The nonconference series will be the first for the programs since 1991, when Arkansas and TCU were members of the Southwest Conference. Arkansas also remains in talks with another former SWC member — Texas Tech — about a home-and-home series for 2014 and 2015. That series has not been finalized.
The road trip to Ft. Worth would give the Razorbacks two games in the Dallas Metroplex in 2016.
The annual Arkansas-Texas A&M game is scheduled to return to Arlington's Cowboys Stadium in 2014.
It's also another attractive nonconference opponent for Arkansas' upcoming football schedules. The Razorbacks have agreed to play Michigan in 2018 and 2019. Arkansas and Texas are scheduled to play in Fayetteville in 2021.
