FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas receiver Cobi Hamilton will begin his NFL career in Cincinnati.
The Bengals selected Hamilton in the sixth round with the 197th overall pick on Saturday. Hamilton became the third Arkansas player selected in the 2013 NFL Draft, joining running back Knile Davis (Kansas City Chiefs, third round) and quarterback Tyler Wilson (Oakland Raiders, fourth round).
Hamilton was selected after setting school records with 90 catches for 1,335 yards with five touchdowns in 2012. It was Hamilton's first season as Arkansas' No. 1 receiver, taking over the top spot after Joe Adams, Jarius Wright and Greg Childs were fourth-round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft. He left Arkansas as the school's all-time leader in receptions (175).
Hamilton became the fourth Arkansas wide receiver selected in the past two drafts.
He'll join a group of wideouts in Cincinnati led by former Georgia star A.J. Green.
