FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson will be without two weapons against Tulsa on Saturday.
Tight end Chris Gragg (bone bruise in knee) and running back Knile Davis (hamstring) will be sidelined after suffering injuries during the 30-27 loss to Ole Miss. Both players left the game in the first half and did not return.
Gragg's injury is the most frustrating for the Razorbacks. The team's second-leading receiver was available for the first time since the Rutgers loss on Sept. 22, but didn't make it to halftime after re-aggravating the knee injury that sidelined him for three weeks. Gragg caught three passes for 55 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown, before leaving the game.
"He’ll be out. How long? I don’t know," Arkansas coach John L. Smith said. "We’ll have to wait and see. He won’t be with us this week."
Davis' injury is another setback in a frustrating season. The running back has rushed for 340 yards and is averaging 3.4 yards a carry, failing to recapture his 2010 form.
Arkansas will rely on Dennis Johnson, who rushed for a career-high 161 yards against Ole Miss, and Jonathan Williams in the backfield Saturday. Austin Tate and Alex Voelzke, whose first career reception was a touchdown catch last Saturday, will be counted on at tight end.
Arkansas coach John L. Smith said Brandon Mitchell's status remains "up in the air" after he was held out for a violation of team rules Saturday.
More on Mitchell's status in tomorrow's newspapers.
