FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson did not participate in Tuesday’s practice, adding to the uncertainty of his availability for Saturday’s game against No. 1 Alabama.
Wilson, wearing a T-shirt and shorts, watched as backups Brandon Allen and Brandon Mitchell go through quarterback drills during the portion of practice open to the media. The senior hasn’t been cleared to participate in practice after being knocked out of the Louisiana-Monroe game late in the second half.
Arkansas coach John L. Smith said Monday the senior was still experiencing “grogginess” after the hit to the head. Wilson completed 11 of 20 passes for 196 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception in the first half, helping Arkansas take a 21-7 lead. The offense struggled with Allen under center during the eventual 34-31 overtime loss.
Smith said Arkansas would make a decision between Allen or Mitchell later this week if Wilson can't play Saturday.
Wilson is one of a handful of injured players missing Tuesday's practice.
Fullbacks Kiero Small and Kody Walker, and cornerback Tevin Mitchel will not play against Alabama.
