"My peace I give to you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you, but my peace give I unto you." — John 14:27

We cannot proclaim peace until we have found peace, and as an explorer on the journey to peace, we can find it in the many devastating circumstances of our lives if we continue to search for it in every day. When we find his peace for our lives, we are able to proclaim that “our God reigns.” He reigns over the world he created for good, but which chose evil. He reigns over the devil and even our own flesh and blood. He created us for good, but we choose to indulge ourselves with the evils of this world, the temptations of the flesh and the pride of life.

We can all learn to live in God’s kingdom in the earth, if we will choose to learn how to live the life God intended for us. God’s intention for our life is that it be filled with the goodness and mercy, security and peace and joy and strength that are required to overcome doubt and fear in your own mind and “believe to see the goodness of God in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13)

In order to see the goodness in your situation, you must believe to see it. Then, when you believe it is there, you begin to search for it. When you seek the good in any situation, you will find it. Then the good you find can overcome the pain of sorrow for what is not there, by thanking God for all the good you find. When you find the good in any circumstance, then you have found God and he will lead you “in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake,” to walk around, through or over the present circumstance and on to the future God has in store for you.
