LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge was in New York on Thursday for meetings at President-elect Donald Trump’s skyscraper, Trump Tower.
Rutledge spokesman Judd Deere posted photos of Rutledge at Trump Tower on his Twitter account and commented that she was visiting with the media before heading upstairs for meetings. He also retweeted other people’s tweets containing photos of Rutledge with Trump’s former campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway.
Rutledge was an early supporter of Trump and acted as a surrogate for his campaign. She also spoke at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, where Trump received his party’s nomination.
News outlets such as Politico and Fortune have said Rutledge is a possible candidate for director of the Environmental Protection Agency. As attorney general, Rutledge has filed or joined numerous lawsuit challenging EPA regulations.
