LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Friday announced the following appointments:


—Price Gardner, Little Rock, to the Board of Trustees of Arkansas State University. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2022. Replaces Howard Slinkard.


—Eric Burnett, Fort Smith, to the Board of Trustees of Arkansas Tech University. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2022. Replaces John Ed Chambers.


—Therral Story, Magnolia, to the Board of Trustees of Southern Arkansas University. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2022. Reappointment.


—The Rev. Everette Cornell “E.C.” Maltbia, Conway, to the Board of Trustees of the University of Central Arkansas. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2024. Replaces Victor Green.


—Ross Whipple, Arkadelphia, to the Board of Trustees of Henderson State University. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2024. Reappointment.


—Stephen Edwards, Marianna, to the Arkansas State Police Commission. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2024. Replaces Frank Guinn Jr.


ASU System President Chuck Welch said in a news release Friday that Gardner, a partner in the state’s largest law firm, Friday Eldredge & Clark of Little Rock, is “well known in the Arkansas legal and financial communities.”


“He has been very active with the university through the years, and we’re proud to have another A-State alumnus contributing to the growth and success of the ASU System,” Welch said.


Gardner said in the release, “I’m excited about the opportunity to serve my alma mater and the rest of the ASU System and appreciate Governor Hutchinson for giving me this opportunity. It will be a privilege to work with my fellow trustees and Dr. Welch to build on the ASU System’s momentum and growth.”
