LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Asa Hutchinson has asked the Arkansas Development Finance Authority to secure federal assistance for residents forced from their homes by recent floods.

In a letter sent to ADFA President Aaron Burkes on Tuesday, Hutchinson asked Burkes to secure up to $5 million through the U.S. Housing and Urban Development-administered HOME Investment Partnerships Program.

“A subset of this program provides tenant-based rental assistance to individuals who meet certain income guidelines,” the governor wrote. “I am requesting that the board of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority approve a resolution to authorize the disbursement of up to $5 million.”
