LITTLE ROCK — In a cost-saving move, the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission will not renew its lease of space for executive offices in the Regions Bank building in downtown Little Rock, Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Friday.
In a news release from his office, Hutchinson said the three commissioners who work in that building will be relocated to the Workers’ Compensation building nearby, a move that will save more than $70,000 a year.
The state’s current five-year lease was signed in 2012 and will end June 30. The commission has had offices on the 26th floor of the Regions Bank building for 30 years.
The commission currently has 89 employees, down from 104 in 2015.
