Anniversaries


Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will observe the 37th appreciation of the pastor, Larry C. Battles, D.Div, at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5. The guests will be the Rev. Kevin A. Kelly, pastor of Second Baptist Church of Little Rock, and his congregation.


St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, will celebrate the third appreciation service of its pastor, the Rev. Hazel Linton, and her husband, Henri Linton, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Joyce Campbell, pastor of Greater Ward Chapel AME Church.


Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church on U.S. 425 South will observe its anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lee Whitiker, pastor of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.


Hosanna Christian Church & Ministries Inc., 1500 N. Bryant St., will celebrate its 15th anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be Jerry Bradden, bishop and pastor of Bread of Heaven Deliverance Church at Morrilton. Praise teams/dancers and musicians will be among guests.


Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Ohio St., will host its 163rd anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Travis Harden of Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.


New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will celebrate its 131st anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Richard Black, pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by the congregation.


Grace & Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 817 W. Sixth Ave., will observe its ninth anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. James Murry, pastor of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by the congregation.


Concerts/Musicals


Family Time Baptist Church and Ministry, 501 Ohio St., will host the annual Ole’ Timers’ Renewal Fellowship at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Singers will include the Heavenly Hearts, Men In Christ, Spiritualettes and the Union Choir.


Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will host the Inspirational Adult Choir’s 58th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jerry Hayes, pastor of Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.


Men’s Day


Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will host its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Blake Criner, pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Gillett.


Revivals


Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host revival with the following speakers on these dates at 7 p.m. — Monday, Aug. 6, the Rev. Fred Johnson; Tuesday, Aug. 7, the Rev. Anthony Craig; and Wednesday, Aug. 8, the Rev. Darryl Martin.


New Fellowship Baptist Church, 3706 S. Cherry St., will present its revival. At 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, the guest speaker will be the Rev. Brian Castle. At 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 6-8, the guest lecturer will be Dwight McKissic, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church at Arlington, Texas, and the guest evangelist will be Robert White, pastor of Freedom Church at Bedford, Texas.


Auburn Missionary Baptist Church at Gould will conduct its annual revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 6-10. The featured speaker will be the Rev. James Murry, pastor of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church.


Special events


Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will celebrate its 2018 ushers’ anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Special guests will be the Rev. James Barnes, pastor of New St. James Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by the choir.


Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 Persimmon St., will celebrate its annual ushers’ program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Willie Laws of New Morning Star Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 W. Fluker Ave., will host the deacon’s ministry workshop of the Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Congress. The service will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the guest presenter will be Kenneth Harris Jr.


Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will host the 152nd annual session of the Regular St. Marion Baptist District Association, the 125th annual session of the Women’s Auxiliary and the 71st Young People’s Department. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 6-9.


Vacation Bible School


Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host Vacation Bible School at 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 6-8.


New Birth Baptist Church, 401 E. Fifth Ave., will host Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 6-10.


Youth


Pleasant View Ministry Church, 1117 N. Palm St., will sponsor a youth conference at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 7-9. Hosted by the youth department, the event will include exhortations, poetry, praise dancers and a skit. Speakers include Semaj Brown, a minister of St. Luke Baptist Church at Little Rock, and Lakisha Johnson of Canaan Christian Center at Pine Bluff. John Proctor, a minister, and Shamond Johnson, both of Pleasant View, will also be featured.
