Conway Writers Group: 2-4 p.m. every Friday; Ola and John Hawks Senior Center, 705 E. Siebenmorgan Road, Conway; The group views all writings as creative. Its goals are to encourage, assist and celebrate writing in all its forms. Newcomers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to bring writing samples. Meetings are free and open to the public.

Marine Corps League Informational Meeting: 7-8 p.m Thursday, August 16; DAV Building, 1490 S. Donaghey in Conway;  The League is an organization of Marines, for Marines, and provides community service, relief for needy veterans, and opportunities for fellowship. Conway Chapter of the Bereaved Parents of the USA: 6:30 - 8 p.m. Monday, August 20; McGee Center in Conway; Meeting is free and open to all who have experienced the death of a child, grandchild or sibling.
