Cleburne Memorial Chapter 1757 United Daughters of the Confederacy held their quarterly meeting at First Electric’s Community Room on August 18, 2018. 

           

United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) work diligently to meet the goals of their motto — Think, Love, Pray, Dare, Live, and also to meet the objectives of the organization — Historical - Benevolent - Educational - Memorial - Patriotic.  Anyone who wishes to join UDC and meets the requirements may apply for membership.  For more information you may contact an UDC member or check United Daughters of the Confederacy out on line.

           

After the business meeting, the program of the day was installation of  officers for the next two years.  Dora Kate Lee of Batesville’s Chapter 135 Albert Sidney Johnson presided over the program.  Those installed were: President Carolyn Johnson; VP Alice George; 2nd VP Diane Hall; Recording Secretary Wanda Dean; Treasurer Earlene Johnson; Registrar Dorothy Ball; Historian Judith Luttman; and Chaplain Dixie Avey.
