Property taxes are due on Monday, Oct. 15.
And, you will have extra time to pay them.
“On the 15th my offices in Paris and Booneville will be open at 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.,” Tax Collector Brittany Rogers said recently. “We accept partial payments on personal and/or real property. The balance must be paid by Oct. 15. All taxes must be paid by 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.”
If your taxes aren’t paid in full you will be subject to a 10 percent penalty and your name will be on a list of delinquent taxpayers in the newspaper, Rogers said.
However, you have several options to pay them.
“There are several ways to pay your taxes. By mail (must be postmarked on or before the 15th to avoid the penalty), phone payments (call Paris or Booneville office or call 1-866-257-2055 using county code 42), pay online at https://www.ark.org/propertytax/logan/index.php, pay from your smartphone http://www.arkansas.gov/m or pay in office,” she said. “Make checks payable to Logan County Collector.”
If you do not pay your taxes, the property can be put up for auction by the State Lands Commissioner.
“They have be be delinquent for five years,” Rogers said.
