FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas kickers Zach Hocker and Dylan Breeding have been named to national lists for awards that recognize their specialties.

Hocker is up for the Lou Groza award; Breeding is on checklist for the Ray Guy award.

Hocker, a junior, broke the Arkansas single-season record for points by a kicker with 118 last year. That was best in the Southeastern Conference and 17th in the NCAA. Handling kickoffs for the first time, he recorded an SEC-best 40 touchbacks. Entering the 2012 season, he has converted 80.4 percent of his field goal attempts — best in school history with a minimum of 20 made.

The 20 semifinalists for the Groza award will be announced on Nov. 5.

Breeding, a senior, is one of 25 punters on the other watch list. Last year, he became the first Razorback to lead the SEC in punting average with 45.3 yards per try. He had 17 kicks of 50 yards or more and dropped 16 inside the 20-yard line with only three touchbacks.

Both award winners will be announced Dec. 6.
