LITTLE ROCK — Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said Thursday his office and the Arkansas Press Association will host a series of free, informational workshops on the state Freedom of Information Act at various locations across the state in the coming months.
The annual FOIA Road Shows will kick off next Thursday with a program from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center auditorium in Jonesboro. The program is free but registration is required.
Other programs are planned in Fort Smith on Sept. 26, Bentonville on Sept. 27, Little Rock on Oct. 18 and Texarkana on Nov. 7.
At each of the workshops, attorneys with the attorney general’s office will offer presentations on the law’s applicability and its exemptions. Also scheduled are panel discussions with journalists and attorneys familiar with the FOIA.
Attorneys who attend the event are eligible for two hours of continuing legal education credit.
