LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Mike Beebe on Friday named two special justices to the state Supreme Court to hear separate cases.

Beebe appointed George "Bucky" Ellis of Benton as special associate justice for the case styled 11-1289, Thomas W. Kimbrell et al. v. Bob Allen McCleskey et al. He will replace Justice Jim Gunter, who has disqualified himself from the case.

Beebe appointed Michael O. Parker of Little Rock as special associate justice for the case styled 11-1061, DIRECTV, Inc. v. Jo Murray, individually and on behalf of an Arkansas class of similarly situated persons. He replaces Jim Gunter, who also disqualified himself from this case.

The two were among 30 Beebe appointees to state boards and commissions.

—Kevin Castleberry, White Hall, to the Individual Sewage Disposal Systems Advisory Committee. Appointment expires Oct. 1, 2015. Replaces Allen Gresham.

—Shirley Clark, Little Rock, reappointed to the Arkansas Board of Hearing Instrument Dispensers. Appointment expires July 31, 2015.
