LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Court of Appeals Judge Robert Gladwin has been appointed to a four-year term as the court’s chief judge, the state Supreme Court announced Tuesday.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Jim Hannah appointed Gladwin to replace Chief Judge Larry Vaught, who will complete his term as chief judge on Dec. 31.

Gladwin was first elected to the Court of Appeals in 2002 and won re-election in 2010 for another eight-year term.

Gladwin is from Prairie Grove. He served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Washington County before entering private practice as a lawyer. He also has served as a circuit court magistrate and district and city court judge.
