LITTLE ROCK — Mass flu clinics will be held across the state starting next week and continuing through the first week of November, the state Health Department said Monday.
A schedule of the clinics is available on the Health Department’s website.
People who have insurance are asked to bring their insurance cards with them. People who do not have insurance will be vaccinated at no charge.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone aged six months and older get a flu vaccine every year. Some people are at greater risk for serious complications if they get the flu, including older people; young children; pregnant women; people with certain health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease; and persons who live in facilities like nursing homes.
Between 1976 and 2006, annual estimates of flu-associated deaths in the U.S. ranged from 3,000 to 49,000, the Health Department said.
