1. Run Game Success
Arkansas’ run game has gotten off to slow starts the past two years. But with Knile Davis back on the field, the Razorbacks anticipate success running the football.
2. Limit Mistakes
A rash of turnovers and penalties can lead to trouble in FBS vs. FCS games. Openers are never perfect, but Arkansas must keep their mistakes to a minimum tonight.
3. Sound Tackling
Arkansas intends to be a sound tackling team under coordinator Paul Haynes and will have the first chance to prove it. The goal: Don’t give the Gamecocks big plays.
4. Score Early, Often
Arkansas is a big favorite, but must remember The Citadel. The best way to avoid disaster is flexing muscle early. Score quickly, get stops and cruise to an easy win.
5. Stay Healthy
The Hogs stayed relatively healthy in the preseason and want the good fortune to continue in the opener. The way to do it? Take control early and rest starters late.
