FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas tight end Chris Gragg won't play against Auburn, according to coach John L. Smith.

Smith said during his weekly radio show Gragg remains "still a week away" from returning to the field after suffering a bone bruise in his leg during the 35-26 loss to Rutgers on Sept. 22. The senior is Arkansas second-leading receiver with 19 catches for 234 yards with 2 touchdowns this season.

Arkansas will continue to lean on veteran Austin Tate in Gragg's absence, although offensive coordinator Paul Petrino said the offense does change.

"He can't do everything that Chris does," Petrino said in regard to Tate's role in the passing attack. "We didn't try to (at Texas A&M). He's a different player. You've just got to find other ways to get other people involved and do other things."

Smith said he's hoping Arkansas will get some playing time out of safety Eric Bennett, who missed the Texas A&M game with a leg injury. He also said cornerbacks Kaelon Kelleybrew and Tevin Mitchel remain possibilities, although freshmen Will Hines and Davyon McKinney have worked with the starters this week in preparation for Auburn.
