FAYETTEVILLE — Jessica Jackson, the senior Arkansas Razorbacks forward from Jacksonville, was voted first-team by SEC coaches to the All-SEC Women’s Preseason basketball team the SEC office announced last week in Birmingham, Ala.

First-team All-SEC as a junior in 2015-2016 and second-team All-SEC in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 and on the SEC All-Freshman team in 2012-2013, Jackson has scored 1,439 career points with 564 career rebounds and blocked 111 shots.

For last season Jackson averaged 16.4 points and 6.3 rebounders and though a 6-3 shot-blocker, shoots so well outside that she led 3-point shooters for Coach Jimmy Dykes’ Razorbacks hitting 48 of 150 for .320 percent.

As a team, the Razorbacks, 12-18 overall last season and 5-9 in the SEC, were picked to finish 10th in the 14-team SEC.

Jackson was the only Razorback to be SEC honored.

South Carolina’s Aja Wilson was voted SEC Preseason Player of the Year.

Reigning SEC champion South Carolina was voted the Preseason favorite to win the SEC.

Arkansas officially opens its women’s basketball season next Friday morning with its annual Elementary School Day, tipping off a 10:30 a.m. at Walton Arena against Sam Houston State.
