ARKADELPHIA —Ouchita Baptist University announced plans Friday for a fundraising campaign to renovate and rename the school’s football stadium in honor of alumnus Cliff Harris.

A major donor has provided a gift as a matching challenge for the project and funds will be solicited by the "100-Yard Campaign" during the next 120 days, OBU President Rex Horne said. The OBU Board of Trustees approved the campaign Friday.

The project will include improved stadium seating plus improvements to the pressbox and parking lot, among other things. Cliff Harris Stadium is to be ready for the 2014 football season.

Harris was an All-American safety for the Tigers in the 1960s and an All-Pro safety for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1970s. He played in six Pro Bowls and five Super Bowls.
