The Fort Smith Regional Art Museum will host an exhibit celebrating the work of Will Barnet from Thursday through June 3. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the museum, 1601 Rogers Ave. The museum also will host a lecture by Timothy J. Clark titled "Will Barnet: A Closer Look" from 6-7 p.m. Thursday.
Barnet was an American printmaker and painter known for his elegant portraits and visions of beautiful women and children. This exhibit showcases re-developed ideas of Barnet’s 1960s works from abstraction to figuration that he never finished. The exhibit was organized by the Alexandre Gallery in New York.
Admission to the reception is free for museum members and $5 for nonmembers. Cost for the lecture is free for museum members and $10 for nonmembers. Visit fsram.org or call 784-2787 for information.
