LITTLE ROCK - A Pulaski County jail inmate who was found dead in his cell over the weekend apparently died from self-inflicted injuries, authorities said Monday.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies found David Francis Honey, 34, of Fayetteville hanging from a metal door frame by a sheet that was wrapped around his neck, according to a Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies cut down Honey and gave him medical aid, but he died from his injuries, authorities said.

Honey had been booked into the jail Friday on suspicion of first-degree criminal mischief, jail records show.

Honey’s death is the first apparent suicide of a Pulaski County jail inmate this year, according to the sheriff’s office.
