The Kiwanis Club of Hot Springs Village, held its weekly meeting at Christ Lutheran Church with special speaker, Murphy Tetley.
Tetley is active not only in the Greater Hot Springs Garden Railway Society, but also runs its display at Garvan Woodland Gardens.
“I’ve loved trains since I was born, I think,” said Tetley. “It was an honor for me to start the GHSGRS four years ago.”
The majority of the society lives in Hot Springs Village but also teams with Central Arkansas Garden Railway Society arranging private and public tours. “We are collectors of many sizes including the large G-Gauge models which have inside and outside trains,” said Tetley.
The GHSGR supports the garden railroad at Garvan Woodland Gardens. The train garden was built 15 years ago and has been upgraded and restored. Fay Jones, mentored by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright, was a significant contributor to the railway in the garden.
