Angler Bruce Zorn and co-angler Jim Gardner won the latest Hot Springs Village Anglers’ Club bass tournament, which was held on Lake Balboa on March 30. A total of 97 bass were caught that weighed 176.2 pounds.
Zorn took first place with a five-bass limit, weighing a whopping 17.4 pounds. Zorn also won biggest bass honors with a 4.8-pounder. Second place went to Mike Crews, also with five bass, totaling 11.6 pounds. In third place was Cliff James with five bass weighing 10.1 pounds. Fourth place finisher was Dave Keith with five bass totaling 9.6 pounds, followed closely by Craig Schilling af fifth with 9.5 pounds.
In the co-angler division (those who fish from the back of the boat), Jim Gardner finished on top with four bass totaling 7.9 pounds. Second place went to Bob Traugott with three bass weighing 6.7 pounds. Traugott also won big bass with a 4.6-pounder. Trent Cole finished third with three bass weighing 5.2 pounds. Fourth place went to Zane Williams with one bass totaling 4.3 pounds. Rounding out the top five co-anglers was Paul Galfund with three keepers weighing 3.6 pounds.
