Students at 34th Avenue Elementary School in the Pine Bluff School District had the opportunity to become their classroom fire marshals recently, according to a news release.

“The marshals are selected by their teachers to help ensure the safety of students and personnel during the fire drills or in case of an actual fire,” 34th Avenue’s Principal Linder Anderson said during a recent fire drill.

“The Pine Bluff School District has scheduled fire drills to ensure that everyone has a working knowledge about their safety escape plans during a fire, which helps prevent them from injuring themselves or others,” according to the news release.
